Our CEO Kalika Yap was honored by the ADL at it’s 19th Annual Deborah Awards Dinner on March 6 at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills.

ADL’s Deborah Awards are presented annually to outstanding women whose leadership in their professions and civic contributions exemplify the qualities and ideals of the Anti-Defamation League.

Other honorees at the dinner include academic and philanthropist Dr. Sharon S. Nazarian, President, Y&S Nazarian Family Foundation and Chair, Community Advisory Board, Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies, UCLA; and business leader Anne Shen Smith, Chairman and CEO of Southern California Gas Company.

Here’s Kalika’s speech
This particular award means so much to me as the prophetess Deborah exemplified courage, wisdom and leadership – three qualities for which without we couldn’t possibly begin to create a world free of hate.
They’re also key ingredients in being successful as an entrepreneur.
But don’t be fooled, entrepreneurship is rarely glamorous.  In fact, ask any successful entrepreneur, the experience is more often messy, uncoordinated and full of twists and turns.
Entrepreneurs are all too accustomed to when things DON’T go as planned. It’s incredibly challenging that even the BEST ideas can’t get off the ground.
It’s is the only endeavor in which an empty tank can create a burst of energy, spontaneous genius and brilliant insanity.
It is also the home of so many who have made and will make history, it is why I love the work that I get to do and why I’m grateful that I get the chance to do it day after day.
And when things DO go as planned and a business or businesses grows, there’s oftentimes bitter sweetness to entrepreneurial success.
Often, we, as business owners, find ourselves alone facing challenges we don’t know how to surmount with growing responsibilities, not just to our own families, but for those of people we employ and their families.
So, we understand the incredible comfort that comes with having a support system, a place where you can go and be protected.
As an entrepreneur, I have found priceless solace and support by my friends and peers at EO the Entrepreneurs Organization and NAWBO – the National Association of Women Business Owners.
We can never undervalue the importance of simply having a place you can go where like minded people are.
I joined as an ambassador for the Anti-Defamation League Cyber Allys program because I knew how deeply impactful it is knowing that there was a safe place for you when you feel alone.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported and free to be proud of exactly who they are.
Everyone deserves the chance to know the feeling of security and self confidence – they are also key ingredients  in entrepreneurial success.
But THE absolute key ingredient to my success has been the unwaivering support of my family, in particular my partner in life, my husband Rodney and our two beautiful girls Malia and Kailani who not only inspire me to keep going even on the hardest of days, but who are the reason every tough day is surmountable and every great day  is achievable.
Thank you for this award and please continue to support this amazing organization.

Insight Imaging Web Design

Insight Imaging Web Design

We’re so happy to announce that our Citrus Studios Client: Insight Imaging, a provider of diagnostic imaging services won several awards: a Silver Award,  28th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards* and a Bronze Award, Aster Awards** recently for the redesign of their web site!

Congratulations!

Insight Imaging Case Study:
Insight Imaging, a provider of diagnostic imaging services, was faced with a common problem: inadequate communication between the company’s marketing and information technology divisions resulted in an in-house developed website that fell short of both groups’ expectations. To quote Insight Imaging, the project “resulted in a less effective and relevant over-arching online structure that does not speak to [our] core markets and customers.”

Citrus Studios was selected to remedy this disconnect. In addition to redesigning and developing the primary website, Insight Imaging also wanted to reimagine the company’s intranet and e-newsletter, thus ensuring a cohesive online presence. At the same time, Insight Imaging was redesigning its off-line marketing collateral and materials. Citrus was asked to develop concepts that would remain relevant and usable for at least four years.

Per Insight Imaging’s request, Citrus designed and launched a clean, modern site—easy to read, easy to navigate, and clear at differentiating the company’s two primary business sectors: fixed and mobile imaging centers. In the field of imaging, credibility is of key importance. To that end, Citrus focused on positioning the company as the go-to source for expert knowledge in the radiological/ diagnostic imaging space. Case studies and white papers featured on the site further affirm the company’s position as an imaging expert.

Citrus is currently working on phase two of the project: to redesign and develop Insight Imaging’s intranet. The intranet is a primary means of disseminating information to Insight Imaging’s 1,700 employees working in over 30 states. This internally accessible website is a heavily used resource, and boasts vast amounts of information. One of the key challenges in reworking the intranet is to synthesize and present this information in a manner that makes it as accessible as possible. A homepage “dashboard,” intuitive hierarchy, and clean navigation will put information at users’ fingertips.

E-newsletters—monthly electronic bulletins sent to all staff—work in conjunction with the intranet in terms of sharing information throughout the company. These highlight everything from company events to “fun facts” about the firm and its team members. Citrus redesigned the e-newsletters to reinforce the overall branding, as reflected in the website, intranet, and other marketing materials. One of Insight Imaging’s requests was the ability to easily update the e-newsletter template. With that in mind, Citrus prepared a modular format that provides maximum flexibility within an established design framework. Insight Imaging’s webmaster is able to update the e-newsletter template with ease.

When complete, Insight Imaging’s dual new sites—one external and one internal—as well as its new e-newsletter template will unify the company’s marketing and communication materials like never before. As a result, Insight Imaging will be able to more effectively communicate with its various audience groups, both internal and external.

Our Founder and CEO, Kalika Yap, passed her Rising Star Award to friend Wina So Tran, CEO of Solstice Medicine Company, on Friday at the 25th Annual NAWBO-LA Leadership and Legacy Awards Luncheon.

Wina tugged at our heartstrings during her acceptance speech, saying she was amazed to be recognized for doing what she truly loves and works so hard for everyday.

It was a fun afternoon filled with fierce and inspiring women.  We enjoyed and laughed at the various tributes paid to Kalika.  It was more than clear however, that Kalika Yap is now part of a great legacy of top achievers in the women’s business community who have established entrepreneurial excellence.

A table was set up at the closing of the event for Kalika’s patented product, Luxe Link.  These entrepreneurial women were hungry for her designer purse hooks as hundreds of Luxe Link purse holders were gone within seconds!  Seconds!
